We are very excited that you have decided to impact the world in a positive way and are working toward the goal of becoming stigma-free.
Here is a summary of the Stigma-Free Pledge and do feel free to print a copy for yourself and put it somewhere visible to encourage you to live stigma-free every day.
You Pledged To:
- Learn about stigma and how it affects others.
- Have open conversations about stigma, particularly mental health stigma.
- Spread the word and tell at least one person about the Stigma-Free Tool and encourage others to assess their own perceptions of stigma.
- Respect and include all people regardless of their mental health, physical or developmental disabilities, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, etc.
- Stand up for people who are bullied.
- Avoid using language that can degrade someone’s sense of worth.
- Reflect on my responses to daily situations and ‘check’ my attitude where I may initially judge someone who faces stigma
