Pamela is a bilingual educator and mental health advocate who is passionate about creating open and supportive conversations around mental well-being. She currently works as a French as a Second Language Instructor and volunteers as a French Translator with the Stigma-Free Mental Health Society. Pamela earned a Bachelor’s degree with a major in French and Spanish from the University of British Columbia’s Okanagan campus in 2016 and later completed a Bachelor of Education through the Okanagan School of Education, specializing in teaching French immersion to adolescents. She also obtained a TEFL certificate from the International TEFL Academy and spent sixteen months teaching English as a foreign language in France.
Growing up in a multicultural family with relatives living around the world, Pamela developed a deep passion for languages, travel, and learning about different cultures. As a neurodivergent individual with lived experience navigating mental illness, she is deeply committed to supporting others on their mental health journeys. Pamela is currently completing the CMHA Peer Support Training Program as part of her dedication to giving back to her community.
As a Stigma-Free presenter, Pamela is passionate about using both English and French to share her lived experiences in an honest and compassionate way. Through engaging online presentations, she strives to build meaningful connections with audiences, reduce stigma, and encourage open dialogue about mental health. By sharing her personal story, Pamela hopes to empower others to seek professional support, build strong support networks, and adopt healthy coping strategies that promote resilience, recovery, and lasting mental well-being.
