Mike is a father of four, a retired Red Seal electrician and foreman, and an avid student of stigma and mental health. He is still involved in research after publishing with the University of British Columbia, Department of Psychiatry in 2016. Mike earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1997, while battling life-threatening bipolar I disorder episodes for ten years prior to 2002. Free from serious episodes for over twenty years now, Mike left the trades in 2015 and has been a support worker since then and a full-time youth worker since 2021. As an inspired hobby, Mike creates songs with his lyrics and guitar, that he introduces in his podcast once per month since 2021.
